Every year, as a part of our commitment to better health outcomes for all multiple myeloma patients, the MMRF holds an annual MMRF Summit where we bring together policymakers, academic researchers, biopharma executives, retail pharmacists, and community health advocates to explore strategies to drive proportional patient representation in clinical research and access to standard of care treatments for every patient.
These Summits have inspired attendees to strengthen relationships with community organizations, invest in technologies to expand capacity at clinical sites, adapt clinical study design to reach underrepresented patients, and grow culturally competent research and patient navigation teams.
Addressing inequities in myeloma clinical research is a critical part of the MMRF’s mission to make sure every person with multiple myeloma gets the best possible treatment—and one day, a cure. We are incorporating important ideas from these Summits to help guide our research plans.
