Patients are at the heart of everything we do.
As a patient focused and founded organization, the work we do at the MMRF is driven by the single purpose of accelerating a cure for each and every myeloma patient. This includes collaborating with other key stakeholders to ensure patients always have better, more precise treatments when they need them—faster. The MMRF identifies and works with the best partners across the myeloma research landscape in pursuit of our mission. We do this through collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, academic research institutions, community health systems, tech and diagnostic companies, national medical research and health agencies, and other nonprofit groups.
How we collaborate with partners.
The MMRF collaborates with research partners in many ways, including investing in the most promising research and technology platforms to bring new therapies to market, funding the brightest scientific minds through fellowships, and developing information and resources to aid patients on their journey with myeloma. The MMRF also provides a centralized resource for our research collaborators to access de-identified aggregated patient data that is leading to new breakthroughs every day. The data and insights we generate and share through our research collaborations are critically important in accelerating the pace of myeloma research. We could not do this without the participation of our patient community in the clinical trials and research programs that are leading to the discoveries that will ultimately bring an end to myeloma. Every single patient sits at the center of our organization and their participation in our work serves as a catalyst to the breakthroughs that are improving lives today and in the future.
Research powers our mission.
Patient participation in our research initiatives powers our mission and is driving research forward to the benefit of the entire myeloma community. By building the largest data sets available in multiple myeloma, we provide the research community with highly curated, robust data, and tools that are leading to new breakthroughs for all myeloma patients. The data and information we share with collaborators is driving a deeper understanding of the biology of multiple myeloma, helping to identify new targets, markers for risk and disease progression, and the discovery and delivery of new more precise treatments for every patient based on their specific disease characteristics. These datasets are also critical to fulfilling our mission of curing myeloma.
Patient privacy matters.
The privacy and wellbeing of patients is of the greatest importance to the MMRF. As stewards of patient data used solely to fuel research initiatives, we follow the strictest industry guidelines and protocols. Any and all patient information that is shared with our research collaborators is de-identified and aggregated to ensure the utmost privacy of participants in our clinical trials and research programs. This means all personal information is made anonymous and will never be used or shared for reasons outside of the intended purpose of research. Everything we do as an organization is driven by our core philosophy that the needs of the myeloma community come first as we drive toward a cure for each and every patient.
