Vice President, Development
The Vice President of Development is responsible for providing leadership, strategy, planning, and guidance for the comprehensive fundraising efforts and day-to-day management for all development-related programs. The Vice President of Development will streamline all fundraising activities, including identification, qualification, and assignment of prospects, as well as cultivation, solicitation, closure, and stewardship. The Vice President of Development is responsible for identifying an optimal pool of highcapacity prospects, supporters, and donors and will represent the organization at key donor meetings, events, and fundraising conferences, articulating the organization’s innovative business model, operational strategies, and successes.

Vice President, Research
The Vice President of Research is responsible for leading functional responsibility of the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium (MMRC) research activities and implementing the MMRF/C’s research strategic plan. These responsibilities include management of the landmark CoMMpass study and Early Access Programs (EAPs). This individual, in close consultation and collaboration with the CSO, VP Clinical Operations and as leader of the translational research team, will develop and implement the portfolio of research to ensure and in support of an appropriate mix of Phase I/II clinical trials, while incorporating the spectrum from the necessary validation and pre-clinical research necessary to enable attainment of regulatory and translational strategies and long-term organizational goals for drug development. This role requires a high-performing and energetic individual who demonstrates outstanding scientific knowledge and experience in oncology/hematology research and the highest personal and ethical standards.

Director, Clinical Operations 
The Director of Clinical Operations will provide completed management and oversight for MMRC’s INDs. They will be responsible for all aspects of study conduct and CRO oversight and is the primary point of contact for clinical study project management, communications, and will assume a high level of decision-making authority. Experience and knowledge of end-to-end management of clinical trial conduct, knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of clinical drug development, clinical trials operations and regulatory components is essential.

Director, Business Development and Partnerships 
The Director of Business Development and Partnerships will work closely with the VP of Business Development to develop and execute the account management process for Bio/Pharma/Data and other partners of the MMRF. They will help develop the science, business and technology strategy to generate and maximize revenues for the MMRF. This individual will execute and coordinate business development projects, collaboration programs and other initiatives to build the MMRF’s technology, data and clinical infrastructure. In addition, the Director of Business Development and Partnerships will manage existing key pharma supported high-touch Event programs such as Moving Mountains for Multiple Myeloma (hiking) and Road to Victories (cycling) and explore the development of new similar projects to continue to maintain the innovation and revenue from partnerships with MMRF Events.

Sr. Manager, Development
The Senior Manager, Development (SMD) will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects that are capable of giving in excess of $10,000. The SMD will develop and execute short and long-term strategies to secure major and planned gifts (value of $25K or more) in concert with MMRF leadership, Executive Committee members, Event Development Team and volunteers. Major gift donors and prospects will be individuals, corporations and foundations. Primary responsibilities will be implemented through regular and frequent visits with constituents throughout the country, particularly with prospective donors on the west coast.

Endurance Events Coordinator
The Endurance Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing multiple events throughout the year, in addition to providing constituent relationship management and fundraising support on behalf of the Endurance Events (EE) program as well as the 5K Walk/Run (5K) program. Provides relationship building and support to team members, families, donors, and all supporters in order to maximize revenues and cultivate relationships. Serves as an outreach point person to key constituents and partners and cultivates important relationships within the EE and 5K programs. The Coordinator will organize and schedule all aspects of EE and 5K programs, nationally and internationally. In addition, the position aids in participant recruitment, corporate sponsorship, team income goals and event logistics. Revenue goals are approximately $3.5M per year for the entire program.

Executive Assistant
Reporting directly to a business leader or leaders, the Executive Assistant provides executive support to a group of executives in a collaborative working relationship. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to their manager(s). The Executive Assistant also serves as a liaison to other members of the senior management team; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. The Executive Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Executive Assistant will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Internships & Volunteers

Volunteers
We so appreciate the importance of having individuals who make a difference for us by volunteering their time on specific projects. Opportunities exist throughout the organization but we have the greatest need for volunteers to work on events.

Interns
We work with graduate schools to provide internship projects specifically geared to the required course programs. You can apply for one of the internships we have already defined, or you can apply to us directly to propose the type of internship you would like to have us consider.

The internship projects typically include:

  • Defining the project, expected outcomes and next steps
  • Researching
  • Benchmarking
  • Analyzing and recommending
  • Preparing a presentation
  • Presenting recommendations to the Executive Committee and appropriate members of staff
