20 Years of Support. Millions Raised to End Myeloma.

Driven by a promise to a close family friend, Eric Gelber has spent two decades pushing his physical limits to help fund the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation's lifesaving research. This Blood Cancer Awareness Month he's taking on his most ambitious endurance challenge yet.

Fueled by One Goal: Give Patients More Time

"When you ran, I could feel the medicine going into my veins." —Anita, multiple myeloma patient & family friend

Twenty years ago, Eric ran the New York City Marathon in honor of Anita. Her words after that race changed his life forever—and set off a two-decade crusade to help accelerate progress in multiple myeloma. Since then, Eric has been fundraising for the MMRF—running marathons and tackling grueling ultra-endurance events. To-date he has raised $2.6 million and counting. This Blood Cancer Awareness Month, he takes on his most ambitious endurance challenge yet: rowing 100 miles and completing 10,000 push-ups in just 36 hours.

Why Eric Keeps Showing Up

"I really feel like the MMRF is making a difference. The fact that I still have friends that are alive—to me, that’s the result. That’s all I care about." —Eric Gelber

Turning Endurance into Research Breakthroughs

Every mile Eric completes and every dollar he raises helps fuel the MMRF’s proven track record of transforming multiple myeloma treatment. Since its founding, the MMRF has launched more clinical trials, built the field’s most critical data sets, and advanced more therapies than any other myeloma-focused organization.
