Kimberly A. White

Communications Advisor to Alphabet

Kimberly A. (Kym) White is a New York-based Chief Communications Officer with deep expertise in the healthcare industry.

She was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of CVS Health, the Fortune #5 diversified health services company. Kym oversaw all aspects of corporate communications through the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to a CEO transition and a myriad of issues that had an impact on corporate reputation, advancing reputational scores on all major indices and growing audience for enterprise content.

Prior to joining CVS Health, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a global biotechnology company based in Boston. Her responsibilities included corporate and brand communications, employee engagement, executive communications, social and content initiatives, the establishment of the Vertex Foundation, and crisis and issues management. Many of these issues were related to reimbursement and patient advocacy campaigns in European markets for the company’s drugs for a rare disease.

An agency veteran, Kym was the Global Sector Chair for Health at Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm. During her seven-year tenure, Edelman’s Health team experienced tremendous growth and became home to more than 600 staff as well as a roster of blue chip and innovator brands and companies. She has been named a leading healthcare influencer by PR Week and Medical Marketing & Media many times over the years (2016, 2017 and 2020) and was a Cannes Health Lions Pharma juror in 2017.

Kym led global corporate communications for Baxter International Inc. from 2007-2010. Before moving to a corporate role, she spent 16 years with Ogilvy/New York, where she held a variety of roles including Global Health Chair and Managing Director of Ogilvy’s New York PR business.

She began her career at Burson-Marsteller (now BCW) in Chicago. She is a graduate of Northwestern University, with a BS in communications and political science.
